About Guns of Icarus
Guns of Icarus is a project that I became a part of during my internship with Muse Games. It is a first-person action/defense game that takes place in an apocolyptic future. The world is a desolate, isolated, and unforgiving place scarred from war and plagued with relentless pirates. As the captain of a steampunk airship, the player travels from destination to destination, defending their ship and their cargo from falling into the hands of air pirates. To the player's defense is an arsenal of weapons and upgrades that they can trade with their cargo. The more cargo that is protected, the better the weapons and upgrades become available to trade.
The game features several level path options that take players through easy, medium, or hard levels, achievements to unlock, a even 4-person multiplayer! The 'lite' version is available to play in your online browswer for free and the full version is available for only $5!

Quality Assurance
My involvement with Guns of Icarus focused heavily on quality assurance. From the earliest prototype builds, I tested the game for bugs, crashes, aesthetics, difficulty balancing, game mechanics, multiplayer, and gameplay feedback. I also assisted in providing gameplay ideas including weapon adjustments and level design.
With my QA test reports, the process was simply to test, document, and then report. As I tested the latest builds, I would log any errors that I could find while paying extra attention to any element of the game that was requested of me to focus on for the test session. I would also be asked to report any suggestions to enhance/adjust the gamepaly as I saw fit. After submiting my test log reports, I would meet with the team's engineer and designer to ensure that my reports were clear and concise.
Working with Muse has been an amazing experience. The development team was very small, which allowed for strong communcation, productive brainstorming sessions, and a keen focus on delivering high-quality work.
